Carciphonas, victims of spiritual contamination at birth, are condemned to a short and painful life. They cannot survive past adolescence, but the few who can defy this fate will bring the world to its knees. This is a story about a sorceress who is looking for a long lost loved one, an assassin whose infallibility stops short of her final assignment, and those who are embroiled in the deadly dance between the two.
