The story is set in a dystopian world where everyone lives in an underground city. It is forbidden to wonder what lies above, but the main character, Eddie, decides to break the rules and find a way to escape the tunnels. When he finally breaks through, he discovers something he never expected: another dystopian world with its own rules and systems of control, yet far more modern than the one he knew.
